SLEEP STUDY CARBON DIOXIDE RETENTION (CO2) IN CONGENITAL DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA #CDH PATIENT

I am an adult survivor of cdh. I am sharing my experience to raise awareness to the fact that some survivors may have problems with carbon dioxide (CO2) retention. My CO2 levels are normal when I am upright or exercising, but when I sleep and lie back, I am not able to exhale CO2 and it builds up in my blood. My oxygen levels are normal. It is possible to have normal oxygen levels, but still have abnormal CO2 levels. If you are asked to do a sleep study, you may want to make sure that they are measuring the CO2 levels as well as the oxygen levels during the study. Thank you for watching my video.
