PULMONARY EMBOLI CT IN CONGENITAL DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA PATIENT CDH

#patientsafety #improvedx #teachdx I am sharing my scans to increase awareness of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Lung Hypoplasia, Pulmonary Emboli. Particularly Adults Diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. My congenital diaphragmatic hernia was operated on over a decade ago, unfortunately over time, I have developed a hiatus hernia, a diaphragm eventration and suffer severe reflux. I will be following up with more CDHINADULTS youtube videos to spread the awareness of health issues that adults with CDH may develop. This includes health issues that current children who are survivors of cdh may develop in their lifetime. A momentum must begin to train adult respirologists and thoracic surgeons on these rare patients. I was born with an underdeveloped lung and cdh but was not diagnosed until I was in my 30's. In this CT, I had had a very long history of shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain and finally I was diagnosed with blood clots in both lungs (pulmonary emboli) Pulmonary emboli is a serious condition in all patients but more so in CDH patients who may have narrow blood vessels in their underdeveloped lungs. Luckily, through the internet, it is possible to find other Adult CDH patients and we similarly have difficulty finding the specialist medical care that we require. We are hoping to see a multidisciplinary clinic for adults with CDH in our lifetime.
