CONGENITAL DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA XRAY in ADULT- CDH with Lung Hypoplasia - Underdeveloped left lung

These are my xrays. I am showing them to raise awareness of CDH. These xrays show the herniation of bowel, spleen and stomach into my chest. Surgery was recommended because of the years of chest pain and respiratory infections that I was experiencing. The logic for the surgery was that these organs may be at risk of torsion which could be fatal. During surgery, this large hernia had to be repaired using a cows pericardial patch. Prior to having the chest pain and ongoing respiratory infections, I had given birth. The pregnancy may have aggravated this congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Subsequent to having the congenital diaphragmatic hernia repaired, I began to experience severe reflux which I still have. It is usual for most infant CDH repairs to have an anti reflux procedure performed at the same time to prevent lifelong reflux struggles. Lifetime reflux can cause barretts esophagus and acidic reflux is known to damage the lungs. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia patients can be born with other associated congenital issues. I hope to improve awareness of some of these associated medical issues In my future videos. My other current videos depict v/q ventilation perfusion quantification lung scan which shows abnormal flow dynamics between the two pulmonary arteries and a ct which shows the hypoplastic left lung as well as my diagnosis of bilateral pulmonary emboli / blood clots. More awareness is needed as the many CDH children survivors will find it difficult to find any specialized care they will need as adults. Thank you.
